Terms used across Smartflow and in loan documentation.

Smartflow terms

Confidence score

A model-derived certainty indicator for extracted fields, used to guide review priority. Lower scores mean the field needs a closer look.

Provenance

The traceable link from an extracted value or Document Q&A answer back to the specific source text it came from.

Human review (HITL)

The step where a person confirms or corrects a machine-extracted value before it's treated as final.

Extraction

The process of identifying and structuring target data fields from an uploaded document.

Loan industry terms

Syndicated loan

A loan provided by a group of lenders to a single borrower under a shared agreement.

Facility

A specific credit arrangement under a credit agreement (for example, a term loan or revolver).

Tranche

A sub-division of a facility with its own pricing, tenor, or repayment terms.

Facility agent

The administrative agent coordinating operational obligations across lenders and borrower.

Covenant

A contractual obligation or financial threshold the borrower must satisfy.

Conditions precedent (CPs)

Requirements that must be satisfied before first drawdown (for example, legal opinions, KYC, and board approvals).

Margin and spread

The additional interest charged above the base rate, usually expressed in basis points.

PIK (Payment in Kind)

A structure where interest is not paid in cash when due and is instead capitalized into principal (or settled with additional debt instruments), increasing the outstanding balance over time.

Event of default (EoD)

A contractual trigger that allows lenders to enforce remedies (for example, acceleration) when specified breaches occur.

Benchmark terms

Market standard clauses or ranges used to compare deal structures.

APLMA, LMA, and LSTA

Industry associations that publish standard syndicated loan documentation conventions.

LoanIQ

Finastra's loan servicing platform used by many institutional lenders.

Credit agreement

Primary legal contract defining loan economics, obligations, and protections.

Term sheet

Preliminary commercial summary of key deal terms.

Amendment

A formal change to an executed agreement.
